Welcome from Mr. Stokes It is a pleasure to welcome you to Houston. The entire Houston Staff is excited to continue to offer excellent educational opportunities for each child. Please feel free to visit us often, have lunch with your child, call if you have any problems, and become an active and involved member of our school. Working together, all things are possible. Let’s Roll Out the Red Carpet

Houston Elementary has been honored with the Red Carpet award to recognize success at creating family-friendly school environment and providing excellent customer service. Houston is among the 124 winners for 2010 and will proudly display a red carpet with the state seal. Each year schools in SC apply and go through a rigorous assessment process to determine Red Carpet status. Houston will reapply in three years.

Project Fit Grant Kick-Off Celebration

The Mary Black Foundation and Project Fit America awarded Houston with the Project fit America Program Grant. The Kick-off celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on September 30 at 9:00 A.M. on the track of Houston Elementary. Project Fit America is a national agency that works at with schools to create new opportunities for kids to be active, fit and healthy. PFA believes in fit children. Working together with the Mary Black Foundation in the community Houston received funding, equipment, teacher training, curriculum, and the resources needed to get kids fit and foster a love of movement.

ST. Christopher’s Episcopal Church

Thank You St. Christopher's

St. Christopher's Episcopal Church raised money to donate school supplies to Houston. Students were able to pick up school supplies during Meet the Teacher on August 13 or on their first day of school. We are greatly and appreciate St. Christopher's for their love, kindness and generosity.
