Principal's Message

{title}
Hello and welcome to Houston Elementary School, home of the Huskies!
My name is Mark Hendry and I’m excited and honored to serve as your new principal.
The 2014-2015 school year will be my twenty-third in education and ninth year as an elementary school principal.
Originally from Florida, my family and I moved to South Carolina back in 1999. My wife, Kendra, is a high school English teacher and we are the proud parents of two children. Hayden, my son, recently graduated from the Citadel and our daughter, Haley, will be a sophomore at Clemson University this year. Our family is thrilled to be joining the Houston family!

Family First Luncheon

Family First Luncheon
Dear Families, We would like to invite you to join your child for our annual Fall Family Luncheon on Tuesday, November 18th. The cost of an adult and child lunch is $3.50. We will not be collecting money in advance. Everyone will pay at the door on the day of the luncheon. It would be very helpful if you had exact change or have your check filled out before you come (please make checks payable to Houston Elementary School). If you have more than one child at Houston and want to have lunch with all of your children at the same time, please let us know which lunch time you will be attending. We ask that you return this form by Friday, November 7th, so that we can order the amount of food needed. We do look forward to seeing you at our Fall Family Luncheon!

When asked why they chose Wofford College to attend, they unanimously agreed it was because of the strong family atmosphere and academic program at Wofford.

We are proud to announce that four students from Houston were selected to participate in this event. They are: Jayden Brown, Olivia Williams, Juan Zepeda, and Ty’tayana Ballenger.
